Examinations
The development of ones own way of Aikido (Do) is accompanied with examinations (gradings), which represent a kind of milestone for the progress on the way. Normally it is not a matter of passing or not passing an examination. Instead you show to yourself, to the instructor and to all the other aikidokas where you are on your way. The development encompasses mental aspects (Ki) as well as technical aspects (Aikido). Therefor there are alternating corresponding Ki examinations and Aikido examinations. |
